Role Summary:
As an IT System Administrator, you will ensure the functionality and operational security of our server landscape and active network components. You will work in a mixed environment (70% Windows / 30% Linux). In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining stable IT operations, monitoring system performance, supporting internal users, and assisting with infrastructure optimization projects. You will collaborate closely with different departments and contribute to the implementation of secure, scalable, and efficient IT solutions that support our international business activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Availability: Ensure the availability of company systems and handle troubleshooting.
- Virtualization: Administer the virtual environment and storage (vSphere / VMware).
- Infrastructure: Install and maintain server infrastructure.
- Backup & Recovery: Implement and continuously monitor data backup processes.
- Monitoring: Implement and manage monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g., Check MK, Grafana, Zabbix, or Prometheus etc…).
- Network Security: Manage network switching, routing, and firewall configurations (preferably Fortigate, but experience with MikroTik or Cisco is a plus).
- Technology Adoption: Select and introduce new technologies.
- Procurement: Assist in the procurement of hardware and software.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (BS CS), IT, or relevant certification (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, RHCSA, VMware VCP etc…).
- Experience: Proven experience in administering Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/Debian).
- Networking: Strong knowledge of Firewalls, Switches, Routers, and VoIP (Asterisk/FreePBX).
- Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere/ESXi) or Proxmox.
- Scripting: Working knowledge of Bash and PowerShell.
- Soft Skills: Systematic working style, ability to remain calm under pressure, independent, solution-oriented, and responsible.
Preferred:
Knowledge of IT/Network security standards.
Experience with Fortigate or Sophos firewalls.
Knowledge of local ISP peering/routing issues (PTCL, Transworld, StormFiber, etc.) is a plus.
